Described as her mum's favourite song, "You & I" sees G Flip delivering a LGBTQIA+ love anthem as her latest single of 2020.
"2020 is nuts and it’s going to be harder to be out in our purple this Friday, but it’s more important than ever to show young LGBTQI+ Aussies that they are seen and heard and important!"
This weekend's episode of The Sound will also showcase sets from Illy, Washington, Kian, D'arcy Spiller, and much more.
"I’m a huge fan of G Flip, and her vocals gave the track extra feeling," Illy said of the new collaboration. "Now I can't imagine it without her."
G Flip released the original version of her single back in May, following months of teasing the track during live performances.
"I thought it would be a good chance to drop a bit of a bop to sing along to and feel alive again in this time," G Flip says of the new track.
MTV started their series of stripped-back livestream gigs on Friday afternoon, with Melbourne's G Flip set to appear this week.
Featuring Birds of Tokyo, G Flip, Diesel, and more, the debut episode of The State of Music will air online this Sunday night.
The star-studded performance will be broadcast on the Nine Network this Saturday night, and features appearances from Courtney Barnett, Jimmy Barnes, & more
