More than two weeks from the announcement of his long-awaited debut album, Arnhem Land rapper Baker Boy has detailed a run of national tour dates in support of the record’s release.

Announcing the arrival of Gela last month, Baker Boy’s highly-anticipated full-length debut is set to arrive on October 15th, with the “blistering, joyful record” set to encapsulate and showcase just who Baker Boy is in the most purest form. “Gela is who I am,” Baker Boy explained in a press release, “and it’s my story.”

Now, he’s revealed just when fans will get a chance to see him bringing the album to the live stage, with the Gela national tour officially unveiled today. Kicking off in Melbourne on November 6th, the tour will see Baker Boy travelling to Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, and Fremantle across the coming month.

Notably, the arrival of the tour dates also comes just one day after the official release of the music video for new single “My Mind”, featuring the talents of G Flip. While the pair had previously collaborated onstage when G Flip joined Baker Boy during his headline show in Melbourne to guest on the drums, they’ve now come together once again for the single’s video, which was filmed on Wathaurong Country, Ocean Grove in Victoria.

“Making a music video in the middle of a pandemic definitely has its challenges,” explained Director Jamieson Kerr. “From rescheduling, directing remotely, technical difficulties, car breakdowns, post delays and a hard drive getting lost in transit, we had it all.

“In spite of all this I was stoked with everyone’s efforts and super pumped with how the video turned out.“

“I wanted the video for My Mind to have a really different feel from my previous videos and I think we got just that,” added Baker Boy. “I worked with Aurie to develop a direction that felt really authentic, we just wanted it to feel like the camera was the perspective of one of our friends on a road trip. We stepped away from really polished, fashion and aesthetic focused clips into something really natural and fun but still touching on what the song is about with those cute moments!

“I’m really stoked with how well this turned out! Jamieson was an obvious choice to direct this one, his natural style really just matched everything we wanted to achieve for this clip! And as always, it was mad fun working with G, they bought all the vibes!”

Baker Boy’s “My Mind” (featuring G Flip) is out now, while Gela will be released on October 15th, with pre-orders available now.
