A star-studded lineup of artists that includes Montaigne, Electric Fields, Cub Sports, G Flip and more are gearing up to perform at a virtual Wear it Purple Day Pride Party this Friday, August 28th.

Created in partnership between charity Minus18, Wear It Purple, and Facebook Australia—the Wear It Purple Day Pride Party will also feature musical performances by Cub Sport, Benjamin Trillado, Nezo Zisin and The Merindas.

“We’ve been creating something very special with our friends @wear_it_purple and Facebook,” Minus18 wrote in an Instagram post.

“As part of our Youth Extravaganza, we’ll be tuning in to a VERY special Pride-filled broadcast! Expect performances from @actualmontaigne, @electricfields_music, @themerindas and heaps more – as well as messages of support from around the LGBTQIA+ community…including @courtneyact!” they added.

According to their website, Minus18 aims to lead “change, building social inclusion, and advocating for an Australia where all young people are safe, empowered, and surrounded by people that support them.”

Australian singer-songwriter-musician Montaigne said of the event: “2020 is nuts and it’s going to be harder to be out in our purple this Friday, but it’s more important than ever to show young LGBTQI+ Aussies that they are seen and heard and important!”

“I’m thrilled to share a special performance this Friday night to celebrate Wear It Purple Day and ensure that no matter where you are around the country, you can feel part of this extraordinary community.”

The line-up will also include special appearances by Kira Puru, Courtney Act, Art Simone, Alice Ivy, Darcy Vescio, Alan Tsibulya, Benjamin Law, Khanh Ong, AJ Clementine, and more.
