One week after it was first announced, Australia’s newest live music series – The State of Music – is back for a Mother’s Day-themed second round.
Created in conjunction with Mushroom Group’s Michael Gudinski and the Victorian Government, and announced as part of the Victoria Together initiative, the six-episode series kicked off on Sunday evening with a stunning debut episode featuring appearances from Birds of Tokyo, G Flip, and more.
Designed to help “keep our vibrant music scene buzzing in this challenging time”, The State of Music is set to be live-streamed weekly, and will feature exclusive artist interviews and live performances from household names and emerging acts.
Now, the lineup for the second episode of the series has been announced, with a range of Australia’s most iconic names joining for a special Mother’s Day edition of The State of Music.
Hosted by Carrie Bickmore and Jane Gazzo, episode two is set to broadcast on YouTube, Facebook, and the newly-created Victoria Together website at 6:30pm on Saturday, May 9th. Featuring performances from Kate Miller-Heidke, Missy Higgins, Montaigne, Vera Blue, and more, it’s on track to be one of the biggest and most exciting episodes of the series yet.
Meanwhile, viewers will be introduced to rising singer Mia Wray, while Sheppard will discuss their new video, making music, and their mums in a chat with the show’s hosts. Finally, Carrie Bickmore will team up with Deborah Conway, Kate Ceberano, and Mahalia Barnes for a discussion on motherhood and the music business.
It all kicks off on Saturday night at 6:30pm, so read on for further details about the upcoming episode.
