Georgia Lines has shared one final taste of her debut album before the full thing arrives next month.

Titled “Wayside”, Lines’ third and final album single pairs a grand piano with a driving rhythm section, making sure to add in an expansive chorus for good measure.

Co-written with Grammy-nominated producer Leroy Clampitt (Justin Bieber, Lauren), Lines says that “Wayside” is about “the journey of facing obstacles and uncertainties, urging against complacency and not settling for the easy path… It’s a reminder to stay strong, keep fighting, and hold onto hope, even when things get tough.”

“Wayside” will feature on The Rose of Jericho, the highly anticipated debut full-length offering from Lines, scheduled for release on June 7th.

The album will also feature previous singles “Grow Old Without You” and “The Letter”, the latter of which contained some of Lines’ most personal songwriting to date.

“I’ve poured a lot of myself into the songwriting of this album,” Lines says. “It is honest and vulnerable, and dives into places in my own journey which I have written much of the album around.

“‘Wayside’ is a significant piece of the larger puzzle, in many ways encapsulating the album’s overarching themes and emotions, giving anyone who listens a sincere glimpse into the journey that has shaped my music.”

Away from her own music, Lines brought back her acclaimed ‘INTROS’ series in 2024, hosting the series on Rolling Stone AU/NZ for the first time. In each episode of ‘INTROS’, Lines sits down with one of her favourite female and non-binary artists for a relaxed kōrero.

It could be a big month for Lines, with the singer-songwriter nominated for Best Pop Artist at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, which makes its return on May 30th following a 2023 hiatus.
