Georgia Lines’ popular music web series, INTROS, is being hosted on Rolling Stone AU/NZ for the first time this year.

The new series of INTROS features Lines sitting down with her favourite female and non-binary artists for a relaxed kōrero. Each episode focuses on the artist’s chosen song, delving into the story behind the song and the process of writing, before the artist will treat viewers to a live performance.

In the sixth episode of season three, Lines interviews Tāmaki Makaurau’s exciting multi-disciplinary artist Crystal Chen.

Not content with one medium, Crystal utilises photography, film, and music to explore her distinct artistry, constantly looking to expand her creative horizons.

The Chinese-Kiwi musician’s ever-growing body of work includes “Love Letter”, her first single of 2024 (released appropriately on Valentine’s Day), which is set to be followed by a debut album in the near future that will contain stylish flourishes of jazz, blues, and pop.

In her latest track, the Crystal melds sonics and visuals inspired by her Chinese culture to bring listeners and viewers back in time to 1940s Shanghai.

“Love Letter” followed previous singles such as “purple tears”, “where will they go?”, and a trio of impressive 2023 tracks – “let’s kiss, not fight”, “not another love song”, and “bubble bath”.

After watching Crystal on INTROS, fans of her music can catch her debut headline show at BIG FAN in Auckland on May 2nd, with tickets available now through Under The Radar.

In episode six of the new season of INTROS, which you can watch above, Lines and Crystal explore life and music in a thoughtful conversation. The latter also performs a stunning song for the host and her viewers.

Lines, meanwhile, recently released her tender new ballad, “Grow Old Without You”, which you can listen to here.
