Hayden James has been confirmed as the headline act for this weekend’s After the Last concert series.
The local DJ’s set will take place this Saturday at Randwick Racecourse for Everest Day.
Ten minutes after the final race, James will take over the Theatre of the Horse (the mounting yard) for a high-energy live set, with entry free for every racegoer on course.
For the Sydney-born, LA-based DJ and producer, the show will be somewhat of a homecoming moment, and a rare chance to see him play to one of the largest crowds of Sydney’s spring carnival.
James’ catalogue includes multi-platinum tracks such as “Something About You” and “Better Together”, and “Just Friends.” He has played everywhere from Groove in the Moo, Splendour in the Grass, and Coachella in 2022.
In 2024, James released his third album We Could Be Love and dropped the lead single “Deep Diving” featuring UK artist SHELLS.
At the time, he told Rolling Stone that the collaboration was a long time in the making.

“I’ve always wanted to work with SHELLS, and coincidentally, the reference for this track was [2016 single] ‘Just a Lover’, which turned eight, two days before this release,” he said.
“‘Deep Diving’ sounds like a Hayden record and I think works really well off the back of [previous single] ‘Make It’. It was hard for us to pick which direction we were going to go with… so we leaned into the DNA of Hayden.”
