Blush are making plenty of noise out west.
The Perth outfit have been establishing themselves as one of Western Australia’s emerging alternative rock acts, pairing heavy guitars with melodic vocals and a sound they describe simply as “girly grunge/feminist rage”.
Formed in mid-2024, the four-piece have quickly built a following both on record and on stage. Their breakout single, “Embarrassed 4 U”, landed rotation across triple j and triple j Unearthed, earned an Unearthed Artist Spotlight and was nominated for WAM Song of the Year in the Punk/Hardcore category.
The track also reached No. 1 on AMRAP’s Rock/Metal community radio chart, while Blush were named the most-played artist on Perth community station RTRFM in February 2026.
Their live résumé has grown alongside it. Blush have sold out headline shows in Perth and Melbourne and appeared at festivals including Party in the Paddock, Sidefest, Spaced Out Fest and Fool Fest, sharing stages with the likes of Old Mervs, These New South Whales, MAY-A, Death By Denim, Ullah and Fool Nelson.
Their music balances its heavier side with softer melodies, with other tracks including “My Mind” showcasing different sides of the band’s alternative rock sound.
Blush also take a hands-on approach behind the scenes. The band are fully self-managed, while their homemade merchandise is created by hand-painting and sewing designs onto op-shopped shirts, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike.
