Rosé has returned with a new single, “New Trick”, offering an early taste of what could be the next chapter following her debut solo album, rosie.
The BLACKPINK star released the track today alongside a music video directed by Dave Meyers, the filmmaker behind videos for artists including Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar and Ariana Grande. The clip was shot entirely on the new iPhone 18 Pro as part of Apple’s latest ‘Shot on iPhone’ campaign.
“New Trick” finds Rosé moving beyond heartbreak with a lighter, more upbeat approach, blending dreamy alt-pop with touches of ’90s pop and early-2000s pop-rock. Speaking to Vogue ahead of its release, Rosé described the track as “possibly the cutest thing [she and songwriter Amy Allen] have ever made together”.
The singer also shared an update on the follow-up to rosie, revealing she has been working on new material for some time. “I’ve been working on new music for quite some time now, and I’m still in the process of finding the perfect fine line between the world I want to create, how much of that expresses who I am today, and who I, personally and as a musician, am evolving into,” she said.
“I’m excited to see where this journey continues to take me, what sort of sound resonates [with] me, and to introduce a new era of my music next year.”
Rosé also joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s New Music Daily following the song’s release, discussing “New Trick”, its accompanying video and the process behind the collaboration.
The Meyers-directed video continues Apple’s long-running ‘Shot on iPhone’ series, which has previously featured The Weeknd’s “Dancing in the Flames”, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Get Him Back!” and Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love”.

“New Trick” arrives after a huge run for Rosé’s debut solo album, which was released in December 2024. The record included her Bruno Mars collaboration “APT.”, which was named the world’s best-selling global single of 2025. Rosé has since earned three Grammy nominations for it, while the track has also reached seven-times Platinum status in Australia and five-times Platinum in New Zealand.
