If you’re an adrenaline junkie, the chances are good you’ve been karting before. But when it comes to Hyper Karting… well, you’ve never been karting like this before.
Launching in 2021 amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic, Hyper Karting was established by brothers Andrew and Peter Richardson, who set out to build a venue that would reintroduce some much-needed excitement and exhilaration into Sydney. Located on level five of The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, it was in pole position to do just that, and though kicking things off at a risky time – namely a time when lockdowns were common and communal fun was a rarity – the decision paid off.
Almost immediately, Hyper Karting became a go-to pastime for thrill seekers across New South Wales, and rightly so. Boasting a 410m track, it set itself apart as Australia’s longest indoor go-kart track, with a fleet of state-of-the-art, all electric go-karts imported from Germany on hand to whip racers around the vast variety of technical turns and wide strips. Let’s not forget the boost button, which gives racers a chance to overtake rivals with a 10% power increase when activated, and upping the competition levels along the way.
But of course, while that is all fine for some of the advanced folk among us, it’s not all about racing like a pro, though, with the circuit also catering to racers of all levels to ensure it’s safe and built for family-friendly fun.
Indeed, while the main track is well-suited for some of our older racers, the mini track feels custom made for the smaller racers among us, being recommended for those between the ages three and seven. Give it time though, and some of the ankle-biters tearing up the smaller track will be racing circles around you on the main track in no time.
Of course, the fun is far from restricted solely to the track. Back in April of this year, the Hyper Karting team decided to up the ante to never-before-seen levels with the addition of their acclaimed Hyper Reality attraction.
The first of its kind in the country, Hyper Reality is an innovative approach to the concept of virtual reality from VEX Solutions. Featuring a 10×10 metre free-roam arena made for six players at a time, it also boasts wireless controllers and headsets, and 4D haptic gaming vests, turning it into a reality-bending experience unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before.
Get your mates together and partake in the survival experience of Death Squad, the team-building fun of Kitchen Panic, or the frantic environment of Cyber Clash. Whatever you choose, the immersive experience will leave you eager to try out the others right away.
For close to three years now, the Hyper Karting team have been dedicated to curating experiences and memories that will last a lifetime, and judging by the response from the general public, they’ve not just succeeded, but exceeded in their efforts.
Positioned up on level five of The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, Sydney, Hyper Karting has been taking over New South Wales as the go-to location for leading edge entertainment experiences, and who knows… the rest of the country might just be in their sights for the future.
Whether it’s whipping around the EQ Hairpin or heading through the Loop of the main track; curating some skills for future racing brilliance on the mini track, or bending the very rules of reality over at Hyper Reality, the Hyper Karting team are inviting you to become part of the new wave, and have fun in some of the most exciting ways possible.
So maybe it’s time to fire up the group chat, rally your mates, and set yourself up for one of the most thrilling and immersive rounds of fun you’ll have any time soon. Catch you on the track!
