Just days away from an appearance at the AFL Grand Final, and the release of the anniversary edition of Better in Blak, Thelma Plum has announced a special one-off Brisbane performance for next week.
Presented in partnership with triple j, the concert was announced this morning, and will see Plum making her long-awaited return to the intimate live stage, with the performance taking place at the Old Museum in Brisbane on Thursday, October 29th.
“I can’t put it into words how keen I am to play a show in front of people,” Plum explained to triple j’s Breakfast program. “It’s going to be very intimate, COVID-safe… I’m going to have some really special friends perform with me.”
For those unable to attend the forthcoming show in Brisbane, triple j will be presenting a special broadcast of the event, with video highlights to appear on the station’s social accounts.
The newly-announced show comes following a year of highs and lows for Plum, who was forced to postpone a national tour amidst restrictions on national gatherings, before the artist herself was diagnosed with coronavirus.
Despite this, Plum has remained active behind the scenes, announcing a new edition of her critically-acclaimed debut album, Better in Blak, sharing a powerful cover of Powderfinger’s “These Days”, and teaming up with Briggs on his recent single, “Go to War”.
Just last week, Plum was announced as one of the many artists set to perform at the Gabba on Saturday, October 23rd as part of the AFL Grand Final entertainment.
