Global superstar and cultural icon Paris Hilton has released her latest single, “Chasin'”, featuring Grammy Award winner Meghan Trainor.
The calypso-inspired track, written by Trainor, Ryan Trainor, Yannick Rastogi, and Zacharie Raymond, and produced by Banx & Ranx and Jesse Shatkin, is the second single from Hilton’s eagerly awaited album, Infinite Icon.
“Chasin'” aims to inspire listeners to move on from past relationships and embrace their futures with joy. The song is accompanied by a vibrant lyric video (watch below).
“I wrote this song with the intent of giving it to a special artist and never imagined in my wildest dreams Paris would be that icon to record it and do it justice,” shared Trainor.
Hilton expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, “Meghan’s writing paved the way for me to bring life to this track that represents self-love and confidence, and I am so happy we get to duet and call each other sisters! #Sliving”
Infinite Icon, executive produced by Australian export Sia, is set to release on September 6th. The 12-track album is Hilton’s first in nearly two decades, and explores themes of fame, female empowerment, mental health, and motherhood.
Featuring collaborations with artists such as Sia and Rina Sawayama, the album promises a mix of shimmering electronic arrangements, driving dance beats, and emotional ballads, encapsulating Hilton’s signature pop glam.
Earlier this year, Hilton revealed to Rolling Stone that she was combing through over 200 songs sent to her by the likes of Trainor and Miley Cyrus for consideration for the album: “After hearing Justin Bieber’s ‘Lonely’, she DM’d Benny Blanco to say how much she related to it and what a dream it would be to make music with him, so now — guess what? — she is.” Such is the influence of Paris Hilton, to this day.
Hilton’s last album, Paris, released in 2006, reached the top 10 on the US Billboard 200 and included the Gold-certified hit single, “Stars Are Blind”. (Which enjoyed a resurgence last year when it was interpolated on Peach PRC‘s hit single, “Perfect for You”.)
Since then, Hilton has continued to make her mark in the music industry, collaborating with artists like Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Steve Aoki, as well as DJing at major festivals including Tomorrowland and Summerfest.
