Several artists have been added to the Mushroom 50 Live lineup, including some international icons.
The upcoming concert is a celebration of Australian’s most iconic music company, with some of the country’s finest artists coming together to honour Mushroom Group.
The initial lineup for Mushroom 50 Live was revealed in October. Mushroom 50 Live will bookend a massive year commemorating the Mushroom Group’s landmark 50th anniversary. 20 artists from across multiple generations will perform 50 songs for 50 years at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, November 26th.
Artists will perform a mix of originals and classic songs, including favourites from the packed Mushroom catalogue, including anthems such as “Working Class Man”, “Holy Grail”, “Sweet Disposition”, “Riptide”, and “Hoops”.
Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins, Ian Moss, and Diesel were some of the legends confirmed to take part last month, alongside contemporary artists such as Amy Shark, Dan Sultan, Gordi, and DMA’S. Recent Rolling Stone AU/NZ cover stars The Teskey Brothers and The Rubens also featured on the initial lineup.
And now English art rock trio alt-j, pop superstar Ed Sheeran, and 90s alternative rock favourites Garbage have joined the bill for exclusive recorded performances to air on the broadcast and on screen at the event.
Australian indie rock band Youth Group will be joined by Budjerah, Mia Wray, and Sam Smith for a recorded performance of “Forever Young”. And Goanna, WILSN, Lotte Gallagher, and Logan have also joined the lineup, bringing the total number of artists to 34 (with more artists and a cast of celebrity hosts still to be announced).
Tickets to Mushroom 50 Live are available now (see below). For those who can’t make the event, Mushroom 50 Live will also be broadcast exclusively on Channel 7 and 7plus from 7pm on Sunday, November 26th.
