Hockey Dad Announce ‘Brain Candy’ YouTube Livestream Performance

Just days after the release of their third album, Brain Candy, Windang duo Hockey Dad are on track to perform a livestream set on YouTube this evening.

This week is undoubtedly turning into a big one for Billy Fleming and Zach Stephenson of Hockey Dad, with a new album being surrounded by new shows, postponed gigs, and live appearances.

While Brain Candy appeared last Friday following a postponement due to COVID-19, the pair’s planned drive-in shows to celebrate its release were also postponed, with weather being cited as the culprit this time around.

However, even with their announcement as headliners for Yours & Owls’ all ages festival, the Hockey Dad lads have proved there’s no rest for the wicked, with a one-off livestream event planned for this evening.

Announced via a tongue-in-cheek video on social media last night, the pair advised fans “NOT tune into our @youtube channel tomorrow ffo@ 8:15pm AEST tomorrow,” noting they “will NOT be performing a special live-stream set with a bunch of surprises.”

The performance, which will be broadcast from 8:15pm AEST, 11:15am BEST, and 6:15am EST, will feature the duo performing Brain Candy in full, though it’s not clear if this is the “bunch of surprises” they have in mind, or if more announcements are on the way.

Meanwhile, the group recently rescheduled their album launch tour, which is now on track to kick off in April of 2021, while their “Alive at The Drive-In” shows will also take place in October.
