The second single from Angus Stone’s Dope Lemon project since the release of his second studio album last year is a breezy lesson in relaxation.

Featuring the talents of Northern Beaches genre-benders Winston Surfshirt, “Every Day Is A Holiday” was announced on July 26. Fans of psych-rock and funk-infused soul are all catered to on this breezy release, which marks Dope Lemon’s first single collaboration under the moniker.

Since the launch of Stone’s Dope Lemon project in 2016, he’s released two albums: Honey Bones in 2016, and Smooth Big Cat last year. The latter hit number two on the ARIA chart and gave him his highest solo appearance yet.

In March, Stone contributed to the Songs for Australia compilation, which was curated by his sister Julia. His cover of The Go-Betweens’ “Streets of Your Town” was also released as a single.

In February though, Stone announced a 2020 tour for Dope Lemon, coinciding with his appearance on the Groovin The Moo festival lineup. Unfortunately, the cancellation of this festival also resulted in the cancellation of his upcoming tour dates.

At the present time, these dates are looking to be rescheduled, though a run of European dates have been rescheduled for May and June of 2021.

As for Winston Surfshirt, the six-piece band are set to take the festival stage again in 2021, this time for Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong in January. Yours & Owls Festival features a stacked Australasian lineup including Tones And I, Benee, Cosmo’s Midnight, Hockey Dad, Lime Cordiale, and more.

Yours & Owls takes place at Wollongong’s Stuart Park across January 23rd and 24th, 2021.
