Macca’s has given Birdie a theme song, and Australian artists have now started putting their own spin on it.
The original Birdie’s Brekkie jingle was released on Spotify on August 26th, drawing on ’00s pop and classic cartoon anthems. Built around synths and a catchy beat, it has the feel of a pop soundtrack, with a bright, upbeat sound at its centre.
The jingle has since made its way into the hands of Australian musicians and creators, with Jordan Anthony, Josie, Sidney, Overnight and Mashd N Kutcher among those taking it on. Their versions join the original on Birdie’s Brekkie Beats, alongside other covers and remixes from Aussie creators and fans.
Josie starts out somewhere considerably dreamier, before moving into country-bop territory and eventually landing in pop-rock. It begins almost like a completely different song before the original melody starts to emerge underneath it.
Jordan Anthony, meanwhile, slows things down. His version brings in more keys and a slower tempo, giving the jingle a softer, more aspirational feel than the upbeat original. The arrangement leaves a little more space around the melody.
Overnight takes things up a notch, speeding through the song with a much more energetic arrangement. There’s a bigger, more hyped-up quality to their version, which feels built to get you moving rather than easing you into the morning. And those are only a few of the versions that have emerged so far.

The jingle comes as part of Birdie’s return to the breakfast menu, with the limited-time Birdie’s Brekkie Meal also available. It includes a choice of McMuffin or Brekkie McWrap, Birdie’s Brekkie Signature Pink Sauce, a Hash Brown and Birdie’s Strawberry Shortcake Frappe with Biscuit Crumb.
