‘INTROS’ Season 4: Georgia Lines Meets Christabel

Hosted on Rolling Stone AU/NZ for the second time, ‘INTROS’ is back to introduce you to the best rising stars in New Zealand music

Georgia Lines and Christabel on INTROS

Hosted on Rolling Stone AU/NZ for the second time, INTROS is back to introduce you to the best rising stars in New Zealand music.

Georgia Lines’ popular music web series sees the Kiwi pop singer-songwriter sitting down with her favourite female and non-binary artists for a relaxed kōrero. Each episode focuses on the artist’s chosen song, delving into the story behind the song and the process of writing, before the artist treats viewers to a live performance.

Next up in season four is rising star Christabel, who first came to attention in 2021 when she won the second season of Popstars New Zealand.

The Auckland-based artist has gone from strength to strength since then, looking to artists like Amy Winehouse and Dua Lipa to influence her pop-meets-indie anthems.

Christabel recently released “Last One Standing”, her first single of 2025, taking to social media to reveal how meaningful the song was to her.

“LOS (Last One Standing) is about loyalty and endurance while loving someone battling addiction/unable to walk away from a situation – whether that be substances or tied to a toxic environment, or stuck in a rock & a hard place, we’ve all been there, we’ve all got a rock,” she explained. “It’s about having unwavering, almost delusional faith that your loved one can get through anything despite everyone else deeming it impossible.”

“Last One Standing” is the first taste of Christabel’s forthcoming debut album, INTUITION, which is expected to arrive later this year. “Making this album has been a deep cleanse of my soul, a healing no doctor could perform,” she said of the record.

In episode five of the new season of INTROS, which you can watch above, Lines and Christabel explore life and music in a thoughtful conversation.  The latter also performs a stunning song for the host and her viewers.

Lines released her debut album, The Rose of Jericho, to wide acclaim last year. Rolling Stone AU/NZ gave it a four-star review, and The Rose of Jericho also featured prominently in our 50 Best New Zealand Albums of 2024 list. The album is nominated for the 2025 Taite Music Prize. And announced today, Lines is nominated multiple times at the 2025 Aotearoa Music Awards.
