Underworld are heading back Down Under in 2027, bringing their celebrated live show to Australia and New Zealand for a run of headline dates and festival appearances.

The British electronic pioneers, Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, will play three exclusive Australian headline shows in March, with each night featuring two special Underworld sets.

Presented by Live Nation and Secret Sounds, the headline run kicks off at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday, March 2nd, before moving to Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday, March 3rd, and Melbourne’s PICA on Saturday, March 6th.

The duo will also make their way around the festival circuit, appearing at Christchurch’s Electric Avenue on February 27th, WOMADelaide on March 5th, and Golden Plains in Meredith on March 7th.

The announcement follows the New York premiere of ‘Crazy, Crazy’ in September, a two-set live experience that offers another way into Underworld’s extensive catalogue.

More than four decades into their career, Underworld remain one of electronic music’s most enduring and influential acts. From the hypnotic experimentation of their landmark 1994 album dubnobasswithmyheadman to the euphoric rush of “Born Slippy (nuxx)”, which became a defining anthem of the ’90s following its inclusion in Trainspotting, the duo have helped shape the sound of generations of dance floors.

The past year has brought renewed attention to their work, including a viral Boiler Room debut that attracted more than one million views in its first five days, a series of album reissues, and continued collaborations with a new generation of electronic artists, including Brutalismus 3000, KETTAMA and KI/KI.

It’s a resurgence that speaks to Underworld’s unusual ability to remain relevant without abandoning the experimental spirit that made them such an important force in electronic music in the first place.

For Australian fans, the upcoming headline shows offer an opportunity to experience that legacy across two sets in a single night, while their festival appearances promise to bring the duo’s famously immersive live performances to some of the region’s biggest stages.

Artist and Mastercard pre-ales begin at 10am local time on Friday, October 23rd, followed by Live Nation and Secret Sounds pre-sales at 11am on Monday, October 26th. A Spotify pre-sale begins at 1pm that same day.

General public tickets for the Australian headline shows go on sale at 12pm local time on Tuesday, October 27th, via Live Nation and Secret Sounds.
