As Severance fans around the world prepare themselves for the season two finale, discussion has already begun about a potential third season.

The Apple TV+ series, that is being dubbed as the best TV show out right now, will air its 75-minute season two finale on Friday (March 21st), with viewers clamouring to know if Mark (Adam Scott) will escape Lumon Industries and reunite with his wife, Gemma (Dichen Lachman).

Speaking to Rolling Stone AU/NZ this week, Lachman said she has heard the speculation about a possible third season, but like the show itself, it is surrounded in mystery.

“I haven’t heard anything or been told anything,” the Australian actress said.Mark and Gemma Severance

“I heard [executive producer Ben Stiller] was on a show… he just said they’re coming up with a plan.”

The comments came on Jason and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in which Stiller promised that fans will not have to wait three years for a new season.

“Hopefully we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon,” he said.

The door is open for a third season and Lachman said she’s already in for it.

“I’m very hopeful and I hope we get to do it again,” she said.

“I certainly think that there’s an audience for it, so, fingers crossed.”

On the popularity and success of Severance – not to mention the cliffhanger episode endings that have left fans painfully waiting for the next week instalment (refer to Dax Shepard), Lachman said she feels lucky to be part of a show that is widely considered one of the best TV series in years.

“You guys get to see the finished product which is awesome and the reaction is incredible,” she said.

“And then I’m lucky enough to be there and work with these extraordinary people. I feel very, very blessed.”

Severance season two is available to watch on Apple TV+ now.
