Young Henrys are celebrating the Newtowner’s 10th birthday in style with a huge street party in their place of birth.

The Sydney Inner West brewers and distillers will be taking over Eliza Street in Newtown on Saturday, December 10th.

From 2pm-8pm that date, the Newtown thoroughfare will be transformed into a fully-decked street party, with the legendary Liquor Sisters (Jackie Daniels and Amber Rosé) on hosting duties.

The Young Henrys Rock ‘N’ Roll Circus will also be there, bringing a rotating cast of special guest performers to the outdoor stage, backed by the Young Henrys house band.

Attendees will be treated to proper rock ‘n’ roll covers from the likes of Tyne James Organ, alternative rocker Dan Sultan, the powerful tones of Caitlin Harnett, and many more.

And in a fitting full circle moment, Young Henrys will be throwing their annual tinnie crack from 4pm at the Courty Pub and on the street, the very spot where they first poured the Newtowner back in 2012.

Hosted by the brewers’ very own co-founder Oscar McMahon, everyone’s welcome to try their hand at beating the Bucking Tinnie in order to win special prizes on the day.

Delicious food will also be available at the street party, including offerings from local coffee and wine bar 212 Blu, burger favourites Mary’s, and delicious specialists Continental Delicatessen. And of course Young Henrys will be on hand to pour iconic brews from their pop-up tinnie, with enticing cocktails provided by The Conti.

Young Henrys began its journey in 2012, launching the Newtowner in celebration of the iconic Inner-West suburb’s 160th birthday. A champion of Sydney’s Inner West over the last decade, Young Henrys and the Newtowner have become synonymous with delicious brews, as well as being a quality partner of the music and arts scene.

Young Henrys is also calling on those who have supported them over the last 10 years to help the brewers reach the number one spot in the GABS Hottest 100 2022, a boozy competition that allows beer lovers across the country to vote for their favourite drinks. You can vote for the Newtowner via the GABS website from December 7th.
