Fresh from featuring in our Future of Music 2026 series, Way Dynamic has expanded his latest album with a new single.
“Officially” was written during the week Dylan Young, the Melbourne singer-songwriter behind the project, met his girlfriend.
“[I]t really is a shamefully joyous love song,” he says. “But it also contends with the downside of being addicted to someone — I am a very compulsive person.”

Out now via Spoilsport Records (AU) and Jagjaguwar (ROW), “Officially” expands on Young’s third Way Dynamic album, Massive Shoe, which earned him a place in our Future of Music series this year, chosen as one of 25 ANZ acts we’re excited about in 2026 and beyond.
“‘Massive Shoe’, I hope, is sonically varied and explorative, but I’m particularly happy with what I feel I conveyed about where I was at in my life when writing these songs,” he said about the album in an exclusive interview for the series. “There’s a balance of banal specifics and broad platitudes that I hope made something that feels more universal than what I’ve done before.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Young was tight-lipped when it came to discussing his future. “Shows and recording, I think,” he answered when we asked about his plans for the rest of the year.

He wasn’t wrong, though. Young has shows lined up for almost every week between Friday, August 21st and Saturday, November 21st, including appearances at End of the Road and Green Man in England.
Following his visit to England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, as well as his debut run of shows — many of which are sold out — in North America, Young will return home to play Bellingen, Eltham, Mapleton, Brisbane, Mt Glorious, and Town Folk Festival in Australia.
