Three stellar New Zealand acts are teaming up for an upcoming tour.
Auckland’s indie darlings Voom, singer-songwriter royalty Reb Fountain, and the prolific Wellington indie rocker Vera Ellen will grace stages across the country this winter.
The tour kicks off in Christchurch at James Hay Theatre on Thursday, May 30th, followed by Errick’s in Dunedin on Friday, May 31s. Wellington’s Great Hall will host the next stop on Saturday, June 1st, followed by Auckland’s Powerstation on Sunday, June 2nd (Kings Birthday eve).
Prepare for a display of triple-threat talent on stage, along with a slew of accolades, all backed by the local label powerhouse Flying Nun Records
2024 Taite Music Prize finalist Ellen took home Best Alternative Artist at the 2022 Aotearoa Music Awards, with Rolling Stone AU/NZ describing her 2023 album Ideal Home Noise as a “constant battle between bright rhythm and wry self-deprecation opposite heavy beats and raw emotion”.
Ellen was also listed among Eight Kiwi Artists Tipped to Take Over by Rolling Stone AU/NZ. Following a recent US tour, marked by her bold decision to cancel her appearance at SXSW in protest against the event’s defense industry sponsors, Ellen is back home.
Meanwhile, Reb Fountain’s 2020 self-titled album earned her the prestigious Taite Music Prize. She recently showcased her spellbinding vocals on Delaney Davidson’s new album, Out of My Head.
And be sure not to overlook the chance to see Voom live—they set the Auckland Town Hall ablaze during 95bFM’s Save The b Fundraiser late last year. Their album Hello, Are You There? just got a vinyl reissue via Flying Nun Records, with a new record set to drop later in 2024.
Early Bird pre-sale tickets will be available for Ticketmaster and Ticketek members starting Thursday, April 4th at midday. General public tickets go on sale Monday, April 8th at midday. Tickets available from eccles.co.nz.
