Some of the biggest names in Aussie music have signed up for the latest in a long series of livestreamed music festivals, joining the lineup for Recharge 2020 this weekend.

By now it’s no secret that the Aussie music scene has been looking somewhat barren in this time of uncertainty and fear. Thankfully though, countless livestreamed music events have sprung up in an effort to keep fans both engaged and entertained.

While the likes of Music From the Home Front, Isol-Aid, and The State of Music have provided music-lovers with an amazing collection of stunning artists thanks to the notion of livestreamed festivals, another one is set to take place this weekend, and features some major heavyweights.

Dubbed Recharge 2020, the festival will kick off at midday on Saturday, May 9th and will feature performances from the likes of Tones And I, Missy Higgins, Archie Roach, The Jezabels, The Black Sorrows, and much more.

Hosted by Henry Wagons, and featuring Myf Warhurst, Recharge 2020 sees the team behind Delivered Live partnering with the Victorian Government to help “breathe life back into communities across the state”.

Described as a “festival and a feast”, the livestream will not by typical in the sense of featuring artists playing acoustic shows from their own home, rather, it will feature a full stage setup with lighting, main stage PA, and all shot by a five-camera crew.

Between the sets, viewers will watch as a spotlight is shone on local growers and musicians, with the hosts “touring” the State’s fresh food markets where local producers will offer their best products.

Viewers are also able to purchase any of the produce showcased in the broadcast, with workers previously employed by festivals and gigs teaming up to deliver the products free of charge across the state of Victoria.

Presented by the Handshake Agency, The Music, Oztix, Recharge Vic, Harry The Hirer, and Small Time TV, it all kicks off at 12pm and is broadcast via YouTube. The event is free with virtual tickets available  though Oztix, though donations are graciously accepted.
