The Beths have donated some of their tour profits to the Neck of the Woods fundraiser.
The beloved Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland venue announced last week that it was set to close its doors after 11 years.
“We’ve been fighting hard to stay open under ever increasing debt. We’ve tried everything but today we’ve had to face the hard truth that after 11 amazing years we’ve come to the end of our journey,” the owners explained in a statement at the time.
Soon after, the team behind YMPHO, the Auckland-based group behind the queer club night of the same name, started a fundraiser which, at the time of writing, has raised $135,429 of its $150,000 target.
Auckland power-pop band The Beths, currently on tour in North America, announced earlier today that it would donate merch sales from their Philadelphia show to the cause.
“Philly! It’s a pleasure to be in you… It’s far from here, but we hope you’ll help us keep this vital piece of the music community we grew out of afloat,” they wrote on social media.

The Beths’ donation of $9,633.83 came through the fundraiser page an hour ago, donated by “The Beths & The People of Philadelphia.”
“Thanks to the attendees of the Philly Fillmore,” they added in a note alongside the donation.
In related news, NYMPHO today released Save Neck of the Woods, a special compilation featuring Ninajirachi, Caru, Lady Shaka, and many more.
All proceeds from the new Save Neck of the Woods compilation will go directly towards the wider fundraising effort to save the venue.

The Beths’ North American run continues tonight (June 24th) in Baltimore, with dates remaining in Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville, Milwaukee, Denver, Las Vegas, and more cities through July-September. Check out their upcoming tour dates here.
Rolling Stone AU/NZ gave their recent Wellington show a 4/5 review.
“There’s a reason why The Beths are one of Aotearoa’s most successful artists and why they continually go from strength to strength,” our reviewer wrote.
