With Tame Impala gearing up to unleash their long-awaited fourth album, The Slow Rush, on Friday, fans have received news of an immersive “Enhanced Album experience” over on Spotify.

Arguably one of the most-anticipated albums of the year, Tame Impala’s The Slow Rush is already on track to be considered one of Kevin Parker’s most acclaimed efforts to date. With a number of Australian tour dates on the way, and fans clamouring to finally hear the new record, the WA outfit have teamed up with Spotify to make its release even more exciting.

Utilising Spotify’s powerful tools, fans who follow the Enhanced Album playlist prior to its release can take a look back at Parker’s incredible career and the artists he’s worked with, including A$AP Rocky, Lady Gaga, Kali Uchis, and Rihanna.

From 4pm AEDT on Friday, February 14, fans will be able to access the Enhanced Album component, which features unreleased audio and video content from Parker’s Fremantle studio.

Featuring in-depth information regarding his working environment and track development, fans can also check out storylines (personal written commentary on nine tracks on the record), audioliners (immersive audio interludes), and canvases (bespoke 8-second vertical video loops on every track).

The footage includes locations frequented by Parker, including his studio, nearby beaches, and the streets of Fremantle, with close friend and collaborator Kristofski filming the majority of the content on 16mm film, and reportedly setting a pair of speakers on fire while doing so.

Tame Impala’s The Slow Rush officially releases on Friday, February 14, with Parker set to return home for an Australian tour this April.
