Ten years on from the release of the album that turned Kevin Parker into a household name, Tame Impala will release a special 10th anniversary box set of Innerspeaker in March.
Originally released in May of 2010, the record followed on from a handful of EPs and singles in the preceding years, with Innerspeaker peaking at #4 on the ARIA chart, scoring the group five ARIA nominations, and not only taking home the J Award for Aussie album of the year, but also being named Rolling Stone’s Album of the Year.
Now, more than a decade on, the record is receiving a deluxe anniversary edition, with Innerspeaker being issued as a 4xLP set, featuring new mixes of the tracks, instrumentals, the unearthed “Wave House Live Jam”, a collage of album sketches, and a deluxe 40-page booklet.
In an Instagram post that saw him announcing the record’s deluxe reissue, Parker shared archival footage of making the album at Wave House, while touching the level of fear and uncertainty he felt in the lead-up to the record’s release.

News of Innerspeaker’s reissue also comes alongside the news that Tame Impala’s 2020 album The Slow Rush will also be repressed on vinyl next month, with a new limited edition colour vinyl release set to arrive on December 18th.
Tame Impala were originally set to tour Australia in support of The Slow Rush in April of this year, though the COVID-19 pandemic saw that pushed back to December of 2020, before now being planned to take place in December of 2021 instead.
Tame Impala’s anniversary edition of Innerspeaker will be released on March 26th, 2021, with pre-orders available now, while the limited edition repress of The Slow Rush will arrive on December 18th, 2020, with pre-orders available now.
