One of Australia’s best bands are finally touring Aotearoa New Zealand.
SPEED took to social media to announce a run of shows across the ditch. “FINALLY… SPEED HC AOTEAROA TOUR JULY 2026!!!” they captioned the post.
The Sydney hardcore band will play a mixture of all-ages and 18+ shows in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, and Kirikiriroa Hamilton in the middle of July.
While in the country, SPEED will also appear at all-ages hardcore punk festival Hamtown Smakdown in the latter city (see full dates below).
Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 1st at 6pm local time.

In an exclusive interview for the series, they reflected on a whirlwind career period. “We just completed a full Australian tour, 17/17 sold-out shows with kids of all ages and walks of life,” they told us. “That is fucking mind-blowing to me and a testament to the health of our scene. In my opinion this is the best time to be a hardcore kid — the passion is real and we wanna keep spreading it as far as we can. We’re about to hit the studio again. The gas is perpetually on.”
SPEED’s breakout into the mainstream was one of the most encouraging success stories in Australian music in 2024.
Rising out of the inner depths of Sydney’s hardcore scene, wider recognition of their talent culminated in a stunning ARIAs win in the Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album category.
They won that award for their debut album, ONLY ONE MODE, a battering ram of a record that heralded SPEED as one of the most exciting hardcore bands of their generation, not just in Australia but worldwide.
