As Aussie alt-pop artist Chymes continues to stratospherically rise through the ranks of the music scene, her latest single has seen her team up with US singer Jack Newsome for the immersive “F It ILY”.
A slow-burning piece of dance-pop, “F It ILY” feels like a liberating anthem for wholly embracing your heart’s desires. As Chymes’ slick vocals kick off the track across the smooth instrumental, a powerful beat joins in to accompany the memorable chorus, before Newsome adds his own vocals to turn it into a mesmerising duet.
Describing the track as “beautiful and fun and special”, Chymes once again proves her worth as one of the leading voices in the Australian pop scene. Now, pairing with Newsome, she also shows off her global appeal and makes it clear that it’s not just local shores that will be putting this one into their playlists.
“F It ILY” comes following a rather busy year for Chymes. While recent months saw the release of “Taken” (in collaboration with ASTON) and “Love Me Like You Hate Me”, 2021 also featured the arrival of her six-track Hell & Divine EP, which included stunning singles such as “Death Wish” and “Feel Better”.
Though it’s currently unclear whether “F It ILY” will be appearing on another EP from Chymes, it’s abundantly clear that with high-quality material of this calibre constantly arriving as a result of her creativity, we’re in good hands when it comes to catchy alt-pop anthems.
