RÜFÜS DU SOL have continued their fine tradition of stellar remixes with two reworks of their new single, “Music Is Better”.

The newly unveiled remix package includes a club version along with a remix by Belgian producer and DJ Maxi Meraki.

Under Meraki’s spell, “Music Is Better” becomes a near 7-minute techno odyssey of zooming synths and driving basslines, while the trio’s club edit expand on the euphoria of the original version.

Listen to both remixes (and the original version) below.

Previou RÜFÜS DU SOL tracks have received remixes from the likes of Solomun, Adriatique, Anyma, Adam Port, Carlita, and many more.

Originally premiered during the Grammy-winning electronic trio’s headline DJ at Coachella earlier this year, “Music Is Better” is their first new music since their acclaimed 2021 album, Surrender.

Exploring universal themes including hope, intimacy, and connection – pillars of the RÜFÜS DU SOL catalogue – “Music Is Better” is tailor-made for hedonistic festival singalongs. The more they chant that, yes, “music is better,” you’re swept up by their euphoric mantra, the trio preaching to the already-converted.

Making up for lost time, RÜFÜS DU SOL’s new single sounds like them at their most expansive and ambitious, and will likely become a fan favourite this year.

The accolades have piled up for the trio since Surrender was released in 2021, including a Grammy nod for Best Dance/Electronic Recording the following year for lead single “Alive”. That track also earned them two ARIA Awards, for Best Group and Best Dance Release.

Between 2022 and 2023, RÜFÜS DU SOL were nominated four times at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards, including for the prestigious Global Award twice.

On the touring front, Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt have appeared at festivals around the world, including at iconic venues like Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl and Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The group also launched their own boutique festival, Sundream, which held its second edition in San José del Cabo last year.

Later this year, they’ll headline Portola Festival in San Franciso on September 28th. This is their only current upcoming tour, although there will likely be more announced soon.

RÜFÜS DU SOL’s “Music Is Better Remixed” is out now via Rose Avenue/Warner Records.
