Peking Duk have shared another taste of their forthcoming album with new single “Let Go”.

They’re not alone on the track: the one and only Matt Corby guests on “Let Go”, which Adam Hyde, one half of Peking Duk, claims is his “favourite song off the record.”

“To me, it really rings true to the beauty of what Peking Duk is,” Hyde, who broke out in a big way with his Keli Holiday solo project last year, says.

“It’s slow, it’s emotional, yet banging. Matt Corby‘s tone and feeling within his vocal just brings the emotion to a whole new high and it came together so seamlessly and beautifully.

“It was such a joy to make this in the Noosa hinterland with Matt Corby and Nat Dunn. JoJo, the legendary pop singer, was also present for this session, so what a joy that was. Most of all we just hope you enjoy it. It’s a really joyous song about letting go, feeling free and just surrendering to the powers that be,” Hyde adds.

Reuben Styles, Hyde’s partner in dance as Peking Duk, says “Let Go” is one of his “favourite pieces of music” that the duo have ever made together.

“It’s got such a fun, retro electronic feel to it, paying homage to that Australian sound of the early 2010s. Matt‘s vocal is just so beautiful and the way he performed it is just stunning — it gets you in the feels in all the right ways,” he says.

Corby adds, “Whilst in the middle of a writing session with my good mate Nat Dunn in her Sunshine Coast hinterland paradise, the Peking Duk boys rocked up and surprised us.

“They played us what they were working on for the next album, and I loved it. It feels like their best work yet. We ended up adding some fun musical and melodic ideas to a couple of tracks they were working on. They liked what we did enough to use on their new single, ‘Let Go’.”

“Let Go” is the latest taste of Paradise, Peking Duk’s new album, out on August 14th.

They previously teased the album with “Do Your Best”, a collaboration with Grammy-nominated Nigerian artist Kah-Lo, “Forever”, another blockbuster collaboration, this time with US dream-pop duo Phantogram, and “Thrills”, featuring Rico Nasty.

Corby, meanwhile, recently released his own album, Tragic Magic. Read our interview with the singer-songwriter about the record here.

Accompanying today’s single drop is news of a massive Peking Duk album tour, which will take them to Newcastle, Townsville, Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Canberra, Hobart, and many more towns and cities between September and November. Check out their full tour dates here.
