The State of Music is back for another round, with a veritable selection of local legends joining the lineup for its third edition.
First announced a couple of weeks ago, The State of Music was created in conjunction with Mushroom Group’s Michael Gudinski and the Victorian Government, and announced as part of the Victoria Together initiative.
Being broadcast each weekend, the six-episode series has so far seen the likes of Birds of Tokyo, G Flip, Kate Miller-Heidke, Missy Higgins, and Montaigne taking part in the livestream concert.
Now, as the next weekend gets ever-closer, organisers have revealed the lineup that will be gracing screens this weekend, with music legend Paul Kelly leading the bill this time around.
Joining Kelly on the lineup are the likes of Alex Lahey, Courtney Barnett, Meg Mac, and Mo’Ju, which will undoubtedly evoke memories of the last three editions of Kelly’s own ‘Making Gravy’ series of annual concerts.
Last, but not least, the lineup also includes The Whitlams’ Tim Freedman, and Tim Minchin, plus longtime friends and close collaborators of Kelly, Vika & Linda Bull.
Alongside artist interviews and pre-recorded performances, fans will also get a chance to relive a special moment from Kelly’s ‘Making Gravy’ tour in 2019, with previously unseen live performance footage of Kelly and cohorts on stage together set to air as part of the broadcast.
The event will see Jane Gazzo joined by performer Tim Minchin for hosting duties when it all kicks off at 7pm AEST on Saturday night. Viewers can catch the latest episode of The State of Music this weekend when it’s broadcast on YouTube, Facebook, and the newly-created Victoria Together website
