This Touring Man: Morrissey Announces Australia & New Zealand Shows

Morrissey will celebrate 40 years at the top with shows in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland this December

Morrissey has announced a run of headline dates across Australia and New Zealand.

Love him or loathe him, The Smiths icon is one of the finest and most challenging lyricists of his generation.

This December, Morrissey will celebrate 40 years at the top with shows in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland (see full dates below). Before arriving in Australia and New Zealand, he’ll take his tour to Asia, stopping in Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, and several other cities.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 11th at 9am local time. The pre-sale begins on Thursday, August 10th at 8am local time.

At each show, Morrissey will perform classic songs from throughout his career, from the early days of The Smith through to today.

There’s certainly plenty of material to choose from: Morrissey has released 13 solo studio albums, including several number one records, and has been honoured with an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music.

The tour coincides with the 40th anniversary of The Smiths’ debut single, “Hand in Glove”, which arrived into the world in May 1983. “Hand in Glove” wasn’t initially a hit, not even making the top 75 of the UK Singles Chart, but the song has remained a fan favourite to this day.

On the solo front, Morrissey is set to release his 14th studio album, Without Music the World Dies, later this year.
