Miss Kaninna has went two for two with her electrifying new single, “Pinnacle Bitch”.

Released in October, “Pinnacle Bitch” is a hyper-confident second track that is determined to remind us that Miss Kaninna is – and we all are, really – “THAT bitch.”

“I wrote this song when I had people wishing bad on me and talking shit while also watching me very closely…. Obsessed vibes,” Miss Kaninna says. “‘Pinnacle Bitch’ is for the ones who like to shake their shit and not give a fuck and take care of themselves.

“I wanted people to feel sexy when they sang the words; this song is for literally everyone who has ever had people talk shit about them for doing them. It’s for the baddies. I think having such a positive reaction from people helped my confidence in my writing and just saying what I wanted and just having a ‘fuck it’ attitude.

“Pinnacle Bitch” continues the artist’s stylish work on her breakout single “Blak Britney”, named as Rolling Stone AU/NZ‘s Song You Need to Know earlier this year. For Miss Kaninna, there’s a clear through line between the two tracks.

“After releasing ‘Blak Britney’ it really hit home that Black women really appreciated being appreciated,” she says. “Women from as young as six up to the aunties and grandmas have reached out to me or talked to me about how they love the song, and that made it all worth it. Also it’s not a Miss Kaninna song without saying ‘Fuck you to the government and the people who uphold the systems in place to oppress Black people.'”

The release of the proud Yorta Yorta, Djadja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali artist’s second single comes in the midst of a busy period of touring: she’s impressed at SXSW Sydney, BIGSOUND, MONA FOMA, and A Festival Called PANAMA, and her performance at the latter even led creative director Tim Carroll to claim, “I have never heard the crowd scream so loud in adoration for an artist.” Expect her to cement her growing reputation in 2024 and beyond.
