More than 15 years on from the release of her ARIA Award-winning album, Parking Lots, Mia Dyson is set to honour the record’s anniversary with a vinyl reissue and a run of national tour dates.

Announced today, Dyson will release the limited white vinyl edition of her record on Friday, December 4th, while a five-track EP named Parking Lots (Revisited) will be issued on the same day, featuring reimagined versions of tracks from the original album. Stripped back and revisited with new arrangements, special guests, and nuances appreciated by devout followers of Dyson’s work, the companion piece showcases a handful of the record’s exceptional tracks in a completely different light.

Recorded at Echo Magic in Ojai, California, and featuring the talents of Matt Aronoff on double bass, Lee Pardini (Dawes) on keys, and appearances from her band and the producers of this set, Erin “Syd” Sidney and Daniel Wright, the EP was mixed by Scott Hirsch (Hiss Golden Messenger) and mastered at Capitol Studios by Ian Sefchick.

In addition to tracks such as “Choose”, “Rivers Wide”, I Meant Something To You Once”, and the album’s title track, the Revisited EP also sees Dyson reimagining the record’s first single, “Roll Me Out”.

“Some friends and I used to perform in a women’s prison in Western Melbourne. I got to know a few women quite well and over time they shared their stories with me,” Dyson explains of the track. “I wrote ‘Roll Me Out’ thinking of the story of one woman in particular who had been incarcerated and then fell in love with another prisoner.”

To celebrate the record’s anniversary, reissue, and companion EP, Dyson will also embark on a national east coast tour of the country in March of 2021. Beginning in Newcastle and wrapping up with a performance at Byron Bay’s iconic Bluesfest, these shows will serve as Dyson’s first in 12 months, and will feature the entire Parking Lots record played in full.

Mia Dyson’s vinyl reissue of Parking Lots and her Parking Lots (Revisited) EP will be released on Friday, December 4th, with pre-orders available now. Tickets to her 2021 tour are also on sale now via her website.
