In true fashion, the lineup for the 2021 edition of Bluesfest has expanded once again, with the likes of Ocean Alley, John Williamson, and much more joining an already-eclectic lineup.

Unveiling its first lineup announcement back in July, the 2021 edition of Bluesfest was always expected to be a big one, especially following on from the unceremonious cancellation of this year’s event due to COVID-19. Featuring 2020 headliner Patti Smith in addition to Jimmy Barnes, Bon Iver, and much more, Bluesfest organisers were far from done, adding Kev Carmody, Tash Sultana, and numerous others just one month later, and The Church, Kate Miller-Heidke, and others being added in September.

Now, the lineup for the April event has grown bigger once again, with organisers unveiling the addition of “Oceans of True Blue talent” for its fourth lineup announcement.

Northern Beaches psych-rock outfit Ocean Alley lead the charge, while “True Blue” singer John Williamson follows closely behind. They join a litany of veteran names and fresh faces, including Jon Stevens, Josh Teskey & Ash Grunwald, Vika & Linda, Garrett Kato, Mia Dyson, and Tex Perkins’ The Man in Black Johnny Cash tribute.

“Time will tell, but It is being said that the 2021 Bluesfest line up is the greatest assembly of Australian artists to ever perform at one event,” Festival Director, Peter Noble OAM said of the latest announcement.

“Ticket sales are showing that the Australian public is ready to celebrate safely and we are on target for a sell-out at our expected capacity. My focus right now is on bringing this festival home in 2021.”

The upcoming edition of Bluesfest is set to take place from April 1st to April 5th in 2021 at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm in Byron Bay, NSW.

While tickets are on sale now through the festival’s official website, organisers have made it clear they are working closely with local health authorities to ensure that the forthcoming edition of the festival goes ahead safely and in accordance with proper health and safety guidelines.
