Methyl Ethel has announced an Australian tour featuring the ‘New & Old’.

Jake Webb and his band will perform shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth in November and December (see full dates below).

The ‘New & Old’ tour promises a musical odyssey through two distinct sets. Webb and his newly assembled live band will first perform Methyl Ethel classics from his discography, including tracks like “Ubu”, “Drink Wine”, “Proof”, and “Twilight Driving”, before unveiling brand-new, previously unheard tracks.

As an added bonus, fans will have the unique opportunity to submit their preferred setlist requests at the time of ticket purchase.

Tickets to the tour go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 6th at 10am local time. The My Live Nation members pre-sale begins on Thursday, October 5th at 10am local time.

Methyl Ethel has been riding high since a sold-out 2022 Australian tour in support of critically acclaimed fourth album, Are You Haunted?.

The album was toured extensively around festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, Party in the Paddock, and Golden Plains. The upcoming ‘New & Old’ tour will be Methyl Ethel’s solo appearances outside the festival circuit in 2023.

Webb’s fourth album under the moniker reached number 22 on the ARIA Albums Chart. “Are You Haunted? is a challenging record, but perhaps Methyl Ethel’s most satisfying yet. Jake Webb just wants to keep us guessing,” Atwood Magazine wrote in a positive review.

“Make no mistake, this may be their most easily accessible record in terms of production, but it is by far their darkest,” The Line of Best Fit noted.
