New Zealand singer-songwriter Marlon Williams will tour his home country and Australia next year.
Beginning on January 20th at Auckland’s Civic Theatre, he’ll then visit Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, before making his way to Australia’s East Coast for shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne (see full dates below). Williams will be accompanied throughout by his backing band The Yarra Benders.
“Me and the Benders are about to head off and sharpen our tools out in the big wide world and THEN we’re stoked to be coming home to play with YOU,” the Melbourne-based artist declared.
General tickets go on sale on Monday, September 12th (10am Australia/12pm New Zealand). The Frontier Members presale begins on Thursday, September 8th (10am Australia/12pm New Zealand).
The forthcoming tour is in celebration of Williams’ third solo album My Boy, which is scheduled for release this Friday, September 9th (preorder here).
Across the album’s 11 tracks, Williams takes listeners on an intentionally emotional journey. “As a live performer one of my favourite things to do is blindside people with upsetting mood shifts,” he explained. “I really wanted that to come across on this record.”
My Boy is the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s acclaimed Make Way for Love, which reached number eight on the ARIA Albums Chart and topped the charts in New Zealand.
