Linkin Park are back on top, debuting at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with From Zero, their first album in seven years.
It’s a triumphant return for the rock icons, marking a new chapter with a fresh lineup while carrying the emotional weight of their past.
Unveiled during a special LP Underground show on September 5th, From Zero introduced fans to the band’s two newest members: Emily Armstrong as co-vocalist and Colin Brittain as drummer, stepping in for Rob Bourdon.
The intimate performance was not only the first time the band had played together since 2017 but also the start of a bold new era. For long-time fans, it was a bittersweet moment, with Chester Bennington’s absence a reminder of the heartbreak the band has carried since his tragic passing in July 2017.
Despite the changes, Linkin Park’s ability to connect remains undeniable. Every studio album they’ve released has landed in ARIA’s Top 3, with From Zero joining the ranks of chart-toppers like Hybrid Theory (2000), Minutes to Midnight (2007), and A Thousand Suns (2010). Australian fans have clearly embraced this new chapter, reaffirming the band’s place as one of the country’s most adored rock acts.
The band’s journey has been far from easy, but their ability to adapt while honouring Chester’s legacy makes this return feel all the more powerful. With their latest ARIA No. 1, they’ve proven once again why they’re not just a band—they’re a legacy.
Elsewhere on the ARIA Albums Chart, Aussie rapper Illy hit #4 with Good Life , his fourth Top 10 entry, adding to his No. 1 wins with Two Degrees (2016) and The Space Between (2021). Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, Gracie Abrams held onto the top spot for a second week with “That’s So True”, with New Zealand-born, Melbourne-raised BLACKPINK star Rosé’s catchy collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT”, coming in at No. 2.
