Due to overwhelming demand, Kendrick Lamar has added second shows in Melbourne and Sydney to his upcoming Australian tour.
Kendrick will now play consecutive nights at Rod Laver Arena and Qudos Bank Arena, bringing his total amount of shows in the country to six. The December tour will be his first time in the country since 2018. After visiting Australia, Kendrick will head to New Zealand for a show in Auckland.
The tour will be a family affair, with protégé Baby Keem supporting supporting his older cousin. New pgLang signing Tanna Leone will also offer support on select dates.
The acclaimed rapper released his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, last week. It was the hugely-anticipated follow-up to 2017’s Damn, which reached number two on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers is set to be Kendrick’s final album with the Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) label, as he confirmed in a blog post last year. “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” he wrote back then. “The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood.
May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 20th at 12pm local time via oklama.com.
