Keith Urban Shares Inspirational New Single, ‘Wild Hearts’

A classic tale of perseverance, “Wild Hearts” sees Keith Urban urging listeners to both chase and manifest their dreams.

Just one month away from the first anniversary of his 11th studio album, The Speed of Now Part 1, Keith Urban has returned with his first new song of the year, unveiling “Wild Hearts” this morning.

Co-written by Urban, Brad Tursi, Jennifer Wayne and Eric Paslay, the arena-ready track serves as a rallying cry for Urban and his fans. “I’m here to tell you anything can happen in this life if you got the heart and the passion and a God lit fire inside,” he sings on the infectious track.

Serving as a classic tale of perseverance, the track speaks of not just pursuing one’s dreams, but manifesting them, too. This is illustrated by a few personal moments from Urban’s own life, including a childhood memory of witnessing Johnny Cash in concert with his father.

While “Wild Hearts” serves as Urban’s first single since the release of his massively-popular P!nk collaboration, “One Too Many”, its release also comes just weeks after Urban was announced as the upcoming cover artist of the September issue of Rolling Stone Australia.

Rolling Stone Australia‘s Managing Editor Poppy Reid was lucky enough to hang out with Urban multiple times for the feature story, including at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, where he’s set to perform twice this December when he kicks off his Speed Of Now global tour.

“Looking back now, we were extremely lucky to have so much face-to-face time with Keith,” says Reid. “Our most recent chat at Qudos Bank Arena, a location he chose, just happened to be at 11am last month. So while we were sitting on socially distanced seats in the empty arena where Keith played me three unreleased songs, the NSW Premier was announcing tighter lockdown restrictions to be brought in that evening.”

To celebrate the announcement of the new cover, Rolling Stone Australia is giving you the chance to win a ‘Squier by Fender’ Bullet Stratocaster guitar, signed by Keith Urban himself.

If you’re eager to get your hands on the latest issue of Rolling Stone Australia, then now is the time to sign up for a subscription. New subscribers will receive two magazine issues if they sign up now, including a copy of the collector’s edition (the 50 Greatest Australian Artists of All Time issue), the Chet Faker edition, out now, and the Keith Urban edition in September.

Keith Urban’s “Wild Hearts” is officially out now.
