Jordan Rakei has announced a tour of Australia and New Zealand.
The acclaimed multi-instrumentalist will play shows in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne at the beginning of December (see full dates below).
Tickets to the tour go on sale to the general public on Thursday, August 6th at 4:30pm AEST. The pre-sale begins on Wednesday, August 5th at 4:30pm AEST (sign up here).
Rakei’s tour will be preceded by new album A Safe Place to Be Wild, out Friday, October 30th via Fontana.
Rakei’s seventh studio album is described as his “most instinctive and fearless work to date; an intimate, surreal, and emotionally direct record about self-acceptance, vulnerability, and creative freedom.”
A Safe Place to Be Wild follows Rakie’s previous album The Loop, which was a top 40 hit in the UK in 2024.
“In the past, I worried about what my band, managers, or friends thought. Now, I don’t care what anyone thinks; this is how I feel. I’m not hiding behind my metaphors or production tricks anymore,” Rakei told us in an interview during his previous album cycle.

After including The Loop in our year-end New Zealand albums list in 2024, we further named it as one of the best New Zealand of the 2020s so far the following year.
“Recorded live with an orchestra, it’s sweeping and intimate all at once. Themes of fatherhood and growth thread through lush arrangements, making this his most personal and expansive release yet,” we praised.
The Loop arrived during a fertile period of Rakei’s stellar career, which included playing sold-out shows at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.
