Melbourne’s Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have served up a handful of intimate tracks, with the Victorian outfit offering up a selection of their acclaimed discography for the latest edition of Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’, a series in which artists perform from home while in quarantine.
Presented by Green Beacon, the third episode in this special weekly series sees the group performing four songs from their recent releases, including two tracks from this month’s Sideways to New Italy, which hit number four on the Aussie charts.
Kicking things off with “Julie’s Place” from their 2017 EP The French Press, the group give us a taste of where they’ve been, before showing us where they’ve come to, with “Cars in Space” and “The Cool Change” appearing from their most recent record.
Capping it off with “Talking Straight” from 2018’s Hope Downs, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever show us just why they’ve managed to become one of Australia’s most exciting exports in just a few years, stripping back their exceptional tunes to showcase the emotional intensity that lies underneath.

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are just the latest in a lineup of massive artists set to appear on Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’ series. With Cub Sport kicking off the series, and Bad//Dreems continuing it last week, a special performance from Lime Cordiale is set to follow thanks to a partnership with Green Beacon.
“Green Beacon loves music and proudly supports Aussie artists,” the Queensland brewery explained. “We’re thrilled to be able to take this to the next level by teaming up with Rolling Stone Australia.
“The arts and music family is doing it tough right now so we couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity to bring some of our favourite bands direct to music fans right around Australia and the world. So enjoy this epic lineup and Make it a Beacon!”
