Melbourne’s Husky have offered up a stunning stripped-back rendition of their recent singles “Cut Myself Loose” and “Wristwatch” for the latest edition of Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’, a series in which artists perform from home while in quarantine.
It’s currently been a few years since Husky last shared one of their stunning full-length albums. With Punchbuzz being released back in 2017, fans have eagerly awaited the release of new material from the collective for some time.
While an acoustic Bedroom Recordings EP arrived later that same year, it’s only been in the last few months that Husky have begun to release new singles once again. Kicking things off with “SYWD” in January, tracks such as “Cut Myself Loose” and “Wristwatch” have followed.
Now, with Husky having released their latest track, “Light A Cigarette”, late last week, the group have graced us with a powerful performance of their previous two singles as part of Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’ series.
Recorded from their home studio, the tunes are elevated to an almost ethereal level as the tender performance pairs with the heartfelt lyrics to create something truly mesmerising.
Both “Cut Myself Loose” and “Wristwatch” are set to appear on Stardust Blues, the new album from Husky which is on track to be released on August 7th via Ditto Music, with pre-orders available now.
Husky’s performance comes as the latest entry in the ‘In My Room’ series, which has so far featured appearances from acclaimed artists such as Cub Sport, Bad//Dreems, and Garrett Kato, and will showcase Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, and Lime Cordiale in the coming weeks.
