Hans Pucket are continuing their tradition of touring Aotearoa during the middle of winter.
The indie-pop band perform 13 shows around the country between July and August, with tickets on sale now here.
“We’ve been dreaming of an extended tour of Aotearoa for years,” Hans Pucket wrote on social media. “Not just flying to the big cities but actually getting in a van and driving up and down the country. 13 shows is a lot but we’re also playing on the Interislander twice so I think that counts as 15!”
The tour is in support of Hans Pucket’s latest album No Drama, which was included in Rolling Stone AU/NZ‘s Best Albums of 2022 list.
“Following in the footsteps of touring mates The Beths, the Wellington band produce earnest indie-pop that really shines on No Drama. Led by twins Callum and Oliver Devlin, the songs on their second full-length album capture all the anxiety and elation of being twenty-something and trying to make it in the big, bad world.
No Drama overflows with slippery grooves and thoughtful lyrics, amplified by stirring strings and horns. The engaging sweetness of the four-piece should be well-received by US audiences when they tour there with The Beths next year,” we wrote of the album.
The national album tour will continue Hans Pucket’s strong 2023. Despite being unable to support The Beths in North America in the end, they eventually made it to the US to showcase their music at the prestigious SXSW alongside other Kiwi artists like Georgia Lines.
No Drama was also nominated for the 2023 Taite Music Prize, losing out to Princess Chelsea’s Everything Is Going to Be Alright.
