UPDATE: Due to overwhelming demand, Glass Animals have added a second Sydney show to their Australian tour.
Triple j icons Glass Animals are returning to Australia this year.
The English indie-pop band will play three prestigious venues in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane this November (see full dates below), including a show at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 5th at 10am AEST. The Live Nation, Secret Sounds, Ticket Agent, and Venue pre-sales begin on Thursday, July 4th at 10am AEST.
The Mastercard and Vodafone pre-sales begin on Tuesday, July 2nd at 9am AEST, while the album pre-order pre-sale begins on Monday, July 1st at 9am AEST.
The album in question, I Love You So F***ing Much, arrives on July 19th, featuring recently released singles “A Tear in Space (Airlock)” and “Creatures in Heaven”.
Glass Animals can’t wait to get back to one of their favourite countries.
“Australia. We love you so f***ing much. When we first came to tour over there, we only had like four songs. So we played them twice. And you forgave us. And then you gave us our first ever hottest 100 success with ‘Gooey’,” frontman Dave Bayley says.
“And then you embraced ‘Heat Waves’ so hard I tattooed the shape of Australia on my arse cheek. It is my only tattoo. I forget it’s there sometimes and it startles me when I get out of my bubble bath. But it makes me v [sic] happy. And I feel the same announcing this new Australian tour. The same happiness I feel when looking at my arse in the mirror. See you soon.”
Glass Animals were just in Australia last month, playing a special one-off show in Sydney. “Glass Animals’ pop-up show at Sydney’s Liberty Hall left fans pining for the release of the band’s new album,” our reviewer wrote.
