Georgia Lines is keeping the momentum rolling in 2024 with a twist on her upcoming tour.
The Aotearoa pop singer-songwriter is taking her critically acclaimed debut album The Rose of Jericho on the road, but this time, it’s all about intimacy – performing solo shows with just her and a keyboard in select cinemas across the country.
“I am beyond excited to announce my cinema tour in November,” says Lines. “It’s going to be very special! I can’t wait to play the songs from my album in their rawest form – with just me and my keyboard in a very intimate and unique setting.”
The Rose of Jericho debuted at #1 on the New Zealand charts, just one week after Lines was crowned Best Pop Artist at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards. It’s single, “The Letter,” was also a finalist for the Silver Scroll Award this year.
“I’ve poured a lot of myself into the songwriting of this album,” Lines said about The Rose of Jericho. “It is honest and vulnerable, and dives into places in my own journey which I have written much of the album around.”
Rolling Stone AU/NZ gave The Rose of Jericho a glowing four-star review.
“Georgia Lines’ debut record sounds so raw and delicate that you immediately feel the heartache which had to be overcome to make it,” our review read.
“With songs about the dichotomy of a life well lived (“Grand Illusion”), mourning what could have been (“Not by Your Side” ft. Teeks), and all the wished-for-words left unsaid (“The Letter”), it’s any wonder she is one of the most exciting songwriters to come out of Aotearoa in recent memory.”
Lines recently wrapped her first Australian gigs in Sydney and Melbourne, showcased at BIGSOUND 2024, and played her debut headline show at Auckland’s Powerstation.
