It almost wasn’t going to happen, but Flamingo Pier Waiheke is going ahead at the beginning of March.

After falling foul of Tāmaki Makaurau’s recent flooding, the beloved three-day party has luckily found new dates next month, when hopefully the region’s weather has returned to some semblance of normality.

The festival will head to Rangihoua Estate on March 3rd, 4th and 5th, making Waiheke the place to be for dance music lovers that weekend.

The updated lineup contains a strong mix of local names and visiting talent. Producer Harvey Sutherland and jazz fusion group Mildlife will be making the journey over from Melbourne, while Dekmantel favourite Suze Ijó and Panorama Bar regular Gabrielle Kwarteng will also be heading to Aotearoa for the festival.

From closer to home, Julien Dyne will be pulling double duties with a solo set and a performance as part of Half Hexagon. Alongside Dyne, the mini supergroup also features Yolanda Fagan (Na Noise) and James Milne (Lawrence Arabia).

Final tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite, with a limited number of spots still available. This includes ticket options that were previously gone for the old dates. And any Flamingo Pier regulars should note that this may be their last chance to boogy at the spot as the venue is set to be unavailable from next summer onwards.

“Off the back of multiple postponements through lockdowns and flooding to the site, we can’t wait to welcome you back in March. We’ve put so much work into this festival and are so excited to bring it to you! Third time’s a charm,” Flamingo Pier’s Luke Walker says about the festival.

“Not only can we look forward to another incredible edition going ahead, but we’re also over the moon to present the updated line-up stacked full of favourites from Aotearoa and across the globe.”
