Faith No More Announce Rescheduled Australian Tour Dates

“We fully intend to make good on our promise to come down and perform for you all,” Faith No More explained in a statement.

Just over a month out from what was supposed to be their first Australian headline tour in 23 years, Faith No More have announced rescheduled dates for their upcoming tour of the country.

The US alt-metal band first announced their upcoming Australian tour plans in early February, having emerged from their perpetual slumber last November to plot a bunch of European shows.

“Five years, four colonoscopies, two root canals and a handful of prostate exams tell us that it’s time to carpe diem our asses back to Europe asap,” the group explained in a statement at the time.

While a teaser soon appeared on the Frontier Touring Facebook page indicating an Australian trek was on the horizon, the band soon revealed they would be hitting up local stages for the first time since the 2015 Soundwave Festival.

“Faith No More has taken many twists and turns over the years, and both Australia and New Zealand have been with us every step of the way; this is something that we have always appreciated,” explained bassist Billy Gould.

“Nevertheless, we realise that it’s been 20 years since our last proper tour there. If we wait another 20, we’ll be in our 70’s. This shit stops NOW!”

Unfortunately, the cancellation of countless gigs due to COVID-19 has seen Faith No More’s May tour become one of the latest victims, with the band unveiling a run of rescheduled dates earlier today.

Now set to take place across February and March of 2021, Faith No More will still play the same venues in the same order, and are still set to be joined by RVG, who recently stunned Melbourne crowds as the support for the Pixies.

“Friends… Due to the spread of the COVID-19 we have no choice but to postpone the FNM concerts we had planned in New Zealand and Australia in May,” the group wrote in a statement.

“The circumstances that have forced this decision are well beyond our control but not being able to play for you all stings like a motherf*^ker. We wanted to figure out how to address our upcoming tour down there in terms of rescheduling and postponements but basically… We fully intend to make good on our promise to come down and perform for you all.

“Hold on to your tickets,” they added. “If these new dates don’t work, we’ll refund your ticket. Thank you for supporting us and the quest for public safety.”

All tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates, though anyone unable to attend the new date is entitled to a full refund, and is urged to submit their details to the relevant ticketing agency no later than Friday, April 17th.
