A massive week of show announcements has seen DMA’S’ upcoming ‘Unplugged & Intimate’ concert series expanded once more, with the group adding in a run of Brisbane performances as well.
First announced early last week, DMA’S revealed that they would be returning to the live stage later this month, announcing a run of stripped-back acoustic gigs at Sydney’s Factory Theatre.
Serving as a way for DMA’S to not only return to the live stage, but also support a venue they grew up close to, these shows will feature a limited audience, will closely adhere to current social distancing regulations, and will feature a changeover period between each set during which time the venue will be cleaned.
Due to steadily-increasing fan demand, the run of performances was expanded continuously from a humble six shows to a massive 18. Shortly after all gigs went on sale to the general public on Friday, all dates were listed as sold out, serving as a testament to how starved for concerts Australian music-lovers truly are.
Now, the tour has extended outside of New South Wales, with a handful of Brisbane performances set to take place at The Tivoli on the last weekend of August. Taking place on Saturday, August 29th, and Sunday, August 30th, the group will follow the same pattern as their Sydney shows, with two performances per night taking place each evening.
Unlike the Sydney performances, a press release states that these are the only dates the band are available to perform in Brisbane, so the chances of the tour expanding even further looks slim.
