Almost a full year after the band performed to a sold-out crowd at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, DMA’S are set to release their “career highlight” show as a live album.
Recorded during the band’s UK tour on March 5th, 2020, the performance was one of the last ‘normal’ shows played by the band before the advent of COVID-19, with all 5,000 tickets being sold within 24 hours of the show going on sale.
Supported by Everyone You Know and Adelaide’s Bad//Dreems, DMA’S previously screened a filmed version of the concert in late April, giving fans something to help deal with the then-nascent lockdowns that the entire world was suffering through.
Now, the full performance is set to get an official release, with digital and physical versions of the show set to arrive on March 5th, 2021. Pressed on limited double ‘Smoked-Pink’ vinyl (inspired by a flare that was set off during the show), the LP package features a full gatefold of images from the show.
In a press release announcing its arrival, the show is described as one of the most monumental in the group’s history: “The band are playing the biggest headline show of their career to date half a planet away from home, yet have conjured the atmosphere of an intimate homecoming celebration.”
To accompany the announcement of the record, DMA’S have also shared a video of “Lay Down” from the concert, showcasing their powerful performance style, and the intense love they received from the English crowd.
DMA’S’ Live at Brixton will be released on March 5th, 2021 via I OH YOU, with pre-orders available now.
